The Book Launch!

Ogopogo Odyssey final cover 2015

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of enjoying my first book launch, as Ogopogo Odyssey made its entry into the world. After a long collaboration with artist, Maggie Parr, we were both very excited to see this project come to fruition. Maggie and I met in 2004 at the San Francisco Writers Conference and began an email friendship that evolved into a writer/illustrator relationship with a vision to see this children’s book finally published. While we had a few setbacks along the way, in 2014, Promontory Press believed in our book and we are so pleased that it is now available in bookstores and can also be ordered online at Amazon, Indigo, etc.

Maggie is well-known for her extensive work with Disney over the years and she continues to work with Disney, in addition to other projects and artwork. It was an honour for me that she agreed to provide illustrations for this story of a young boy who visits his grandparents’ vineyard in the Okanagan Valley where he experiences the best summer adventure ever. A chance sighting of the mysterious lake creature called Ogopogo, changes his life forever.

Our launch took place on Friday, May 6th at St. Michaels University School Senior Library. Here are a few pics from the event!
