Sparkling Hill

Last week my husband and I enjoyed a three-day retreat at the beautiful Sparkling Hill Resort in Vernon, B.C. In addition to being a world-class hotel and spa, the location of this jewel in the picturesque Okanagan Valley is simply quite stunning. Overlooking Okanagan Lake, the views from our room, from the pool and spa areas, and from Peakfine Restaurant were simply breathtaking.

Sparkling Hill Resort more than lives up to its name… it really does sparkle! There are over 3.5 million crystals in the hotel, from the spectacular chandeliers to the added features on the stairways, closet doors, chairs, room decor, etc. This is not surprising considering the hotel was built by the Swarovski Crystal family.

The Kurspa at Sparkling Hill is very European in its design and concept. The term “Kurspa” comes from the German word “Kur” for healing and the Latin word “spa” for water. The spa area is over 40,000 sq. feet in size and includes many types of treatment areas as well as several different pools to choose from. We tried out the Cryo Cold Chamber which was a “very cool” experience at -110 C!IMG_4681

Other parts of the spa include a tea room, a serenity room, mud bath rooms, beauty area, massage treatments, workout room, as well as a movement studio. And yes, there are crystals in all these areas too!

And last, but certainly not least, the food at Sparkling Hills was also a highlight. Coupled with the view, it was hard not to enjoy every meal. The hotel offers wonderful Dine and Stay packages which include all your meals at the Peakfine Restaurant… excellent value.

Hope you get to visit this place sometime soon… I can’t wait to go back!
